General Info

ADAM members are responsible for their own vehicles and costs.

Only members are eligible to participate in group rides.

When an associate has been recommended for full membership to the IAM they may be invited to continue training and become a group observer so that they can pass on the skills they have developed to the next intake of associates, if you would be interested talk to your observer.

After some experience is gained under direction, a written therory test and a practical test is taken to certify you as a qualified observer. A qualified observer can progress to a senior observer by sitting the test set by the IAM and conducted by an IAM appointed examiner.

Document Checks

In order to be a fully participating member of the group, ALL members, whether associate or qualified must present their documents for an annual check by the group. This is a directive from IAM Headquarters and is in response to the groups’ Insurance Requirements.Documents required are Licence, Insurance and MOT if applicable. Group Observers will be responsible for this information.Failure to produce the required documents within a reasonable time will result in members being disallowed to participate in observed runs.

P.S. Before taking the IAM test you are required to produce your documents to your examiner.


Attire

Attendance at any IAM run is dependant on members wearing suitable protective clothing. This includes, jacket, trousers, boots, helmet and gloves.

Bikes

At all times you are responsible for your own vehicle and riding. Bikes should be in a legal and roadworthy condition.

Riding

ALL members are expected and encouraged to ride to the highest standard they can achieve with safety always being the overriding consideration.
